New Speedlight

Yes, today wake up open the post box and saw my new speedlight arrived ….wow..damn happy. FYI, this speedlight is cheap china made thingy so don’t think that I am so rich keep on adding my gadget with expensive original thing. Many people told me that china thing is not good this and that but still it’s cheap. A poor photographer should practise with cheap thing first…lol before you go famous and rich then you can support the original thing. But before I start anything I wanted to say that original thing is far far more better than third party thingy. Why? Think youself…LOL

So, I have done several test on the flash to compare it with my SB800(which is original thing and expensive too…it was 10 times more expensive then the china made thing…china is great..LOL). OK, here it goes…

This is full size straight from camera without any editing…..Below is the YinYan flash…..China….

OK, everybody will say what the hell SB800 flash so yellowish…LOL..this is my fault because my white balance is wrong

From this two comparison, yes the yellowish is from SB800 because SB800 care too many thing, like white balance, ISO, Shutter, Apperture and others. On the other hand, the YinYan work on its own. The flash work on 3 thing, Shutter, Apperture and Distance and that’s all you can do. It is a totally nothing in this flash because its fully manual thing and you don’t have anything to adjust to this flash. What you can do is just adjust thing on your camera to suit the flash. So, this flash work alone is quite risky but when work as slave then it will look far more better.

OK, next test….my favourite..strobe. Below is the image done with 1 light strobe

Conclusion, both done well(of course SB800 done well ) the YinYan flash did not dissapointed me with 1 flash strobe. Look pretty good but from both images you can see that SB800 have more power even I put the lowest which is 1/128 while the YinYan I not sure because can’t adjust…LOL

OK, 2 light strobe. Well, sure YinYan is my second light so it will be the backlight…haha…

Conclusion, nicely done the job for backlight. The reason why I put YinYan as backlight because the light is too strong to light as my main light. My main light is SB800 which I can control the power. Excellent. After this will see more my photos with 2 lighting…hahaha

OK, this is the end of the review of the flash. Work pretty good and did not dissapointed me. Anyway, the main thing is it worth to buy. Imagine you can buy 10 YinYan flash to change 1 SB800. But still I advise get SB800 if you plan to use one flash only. For strobist but poor like me..hahaha..then can buy this third party flash to light up your extra scene like backlight and fill light also will be suit.

So, conclusion, cheap thing doesn’t always let you down if you know how to appreciate them.
