High Key Wedding
Got another wedding job after no job for I think 1 month because of waiting for license test. Damn bored without a job. Now, I know how it feel without a job when grads. Last time my friend used to tell me very bored when grads nothing to do and I will tell them relax slow slow and you will have job. Don’t be so frust. Now, my turn I feel my words is no use at all…hahaha….I am frust without a job. OK, I should apply for job without care about the license test then. Going to do plastic surgery tomorrow…hehe..LOL…Totally, out of topic…sorry..
OK, back to the topic. This time wedding I choose to do high key type and kind of success. Using 2-4 flashes just for a shot and you know wedding you need rush here and here and sure you will have thing missing. And I have miss something anyway. I should think of a proper way to do high key wedding next time. It’s not easy to hold 3 flashes on your hand and shoot at the same time. And it not safe also put it at the floor. I experience that so I won’t do the same mistake then. You know what. My flash got kick!!!! >.< The flash fly so far…lucky just a china made flash…huh….

This high key experience is really something hard to get. You know when Chinese wedding everything is white. You wanted to do high key and you need to care their cloth. You gonna screw up when you put higher even one stop. I shoot almost 1k of photos for this wedding just for morning and this broke my own record for shooting wedding. I never reach 1k of photos even for night and morning. This is because I need to keep the thing in safe mode and got high key.
Something to learn when doing this wedding. This keep me going up a step.

wah！nice wor. But sure very tired ya, keep set up the flash and shoot. It take time to shoot every single pic rite?
hahaha..yea damn damn tired that why didn’t go for the dinner…hahaha…
hahhaa…susah susah for whole morning but just get a bit pay nia ….so pity la u…..I believe no others photographer willing to do this unless they get more pay

in each photo, you did mentioned “1 YN 460 at the back to light up…”, may I know the “at the back” is at your back or the subject’s back??
how do you hold 2nd flash which may far away from you?
the flash remote is by light sensor or other transmission…..
too many questions to ask… sorry…

1) at the back mean the subject’s back…LOL
2) if the 2nd flash is far away the I didn’t hold it, I use light stand, but if I can hold it then I will hold.

one more doubt, sorry for my poor knowledge, the ‘radio’ transmission mean does not need to fire yr master flash (sb800 or build-in flash) on yr camera to trigger the YN flash?
if i hv 2 3rd party china made flash, it mean i can’t work with only 1 set of radio transmission, right?

yea can….no need use flash to trigger…..coz normally 3rd party flashes didnt allow u use trigger use by the original camera….so i used the trigger to trigger the flash…but YN flash can be trigger by Nikon flash also..hahaha…so depend on u see what type of flash u buy and what camera u use…and only make decision what to use for trigger…
of course everything original will be better….

Happen that found a link to your site. Nice capturing of the moment. However, some of the photos are overxpose when view on mine monitor. Not sure how it’s look on yours. To my understanding, high-key images mean a light color subject being photograph in front of a light color background where the subject details is still being visible and distinguish from the background. Sorry to say some of the photos are actually overexpose rather than a high key shot.

But, 1 thing wanna ask…wat is ur monitor? I am using Dell and the monitor is super bright ady but i see the photo still in okie condition wor…when i preview it on my CRT which is more accurate the brightness then the photos look just fine…
2ndly, well I definitely know what it mean by high-key in photography. It can be called something like u shoot model in white background or something that is totally bright. In my blog I mean it by high key is something I mean by happy, white, bright(well but not overexpose, but I wonder why u saw it overexpose). All this might be different from one person from another.
I didnt said that you are wrong or I am wrong, but this is something that will be different from each of the individual.
So, I really appreciate your comment. Here come a very useful comments after all. I will improve more in future.
